1.OneZo

OneZo’s famous Brown Sugar Milk Tea

Each cup of OneZo’s tea drink consists of delicious and fresh handmade bubbles, replacing the conventional mass produced tapioca balls. 2.Gong Cha

“Gong cha” in Chinese means to offer the best tea to the Emperor from all possessions. It represents the highest quality and self-expectation. The brand was established in 2006, Gong cha has been appreciated by its customers, relying on good words of mouth and unique customized services originated in Taiwan. From then on, the story of Gong cha has widely spread, and Gong cha has become one of the best-known quality tea providers in the world. Nowadays, Gong cha has blossomed in 4 different continents Worldwide, such as North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Here is the timeline of the establishment of Gong Cha, and eventually receiving awards!

1996 — Initiating tea drink business,devoting in product development.

2006 — The first Gong cha store opened in Kaohsiung,Taiwan.

3. Chatime

Chatime’s Roasted Milk Tea

Chatime, being the largest teahouse franchise in the world adopted the strategy of franchising as a way to expand and grow its model. Currently, Chatime is operating over 2,500 stores in over 38 different countries worldwide, with an estimated revenue of US$ 20 million as of 2011. Chatime is known for its best-selling drink, the “pearl” milk tea. The brand has a variety of drinks under categories such as milk tea, fresh tea, fruit tea, “oriental pop tea”, “QQ” jelly, “mousse”, juices, smoothies and coffee. It also offers less sugar drinks. The brand was first founded in 2005, under a parent company La Kaffa Coffee which was based in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The company opened its first outlet outside of Taiwan in California in 2006, followed by Australia in 2009, where it currently has over 70 stores. This was followed by Malaysia in 2010. Eventually in 2012, the brand opened its first store in India, a traditional tea drinking country, in New Delhi. After its two stores in New York, its third store in the United States opened at Mall of America in March 2012, and eventually opening up in London, United Kingdom and many other countries around the World!

5. Happy Lemon

Happy Lemon’s famous Salted Cheese tea drink

Happy Lemon, which was first founded in Shanghai, China in 2006 and now includes more than 1,000 locations around the globe, has just launched a store on Convoy Street that also happens to be its largest worldwide. The huge franchise is known for its tea drinks, based on black or green tea imported from Taiwan; top sellers include a fresh grapefruit green tea and a mango matcha latte. Its boba milk teas, which come with tapioca pearls or housemade taro balls, can be customized with varying levels of sweetness, and the Kearny Mesa location also offers mojitos, made with Eureka lemons and fresh mint.

But the Happy Lemon chain is most famous for its salted cheese series, which crowns a cup of tea with a creamy cheese foam made with cream cheese, whipped cream, milk, and a little rock salt. Proper drinking technique starts with tilting the cup at 45 degree angle to first enjoy the salted cheese topping on its own before it mixes with the tea. Besides drinks, the Convoy shop’s menu includes Asian-style bubble waffles in original or chocolate flavor.
